Ledyard — A Ledyard man was arrested this morning on numerous sexual assault charges.

James Matthewson, 29, of 41G Flintlock Road, was charged with four counts of first-degree sexual assault and five counts of risk of injury to a minor.

Police said they served Matthewson with an arrest warrant at about 7:30 a.m. Police said the warrant is sealed.

Matthewson is being held in lieu of $500,000 bond, pending his arraignment Monday in New London Superior Court.
