Montville police warn of phone donation requests

Calls to Montville homes asking for monetary donations for police are not coming from the Montville Police Union, officials said Thursday.
Montville residents have complained of calls asking for donations from “607-203-5573 A.F.P.O.,” the union’s executive board said in a news release.
That may refer to the Association for Police Officers, which does not give money to the Montville Police Union, the news release said.
The Montville Police Union only solicits donations by mail, it said.
