Man charged with heroin possession after nodding off in Griswold store
State police said they arrested an 18-year-old for possession of heroin after he "nodded off" Friday inside the Napa Auto Parts store in Griswold.
Brandon Burnette was charged with illegal possession of a narcotic.
According to a news release, troopers were called to the store at 645 Voluntown Road at 5:13 p.m. for a report that Burnette was nodding off inside the store. Burnette admitted he had snorted heroin shortly before entering the store. The troopers searched his vehicle and found two small plastic baggies of suspected heroin, according to the report.
Burnette was released on a $2,500 nonsurety bond and is scheduled to appear on June 29 in Superior Court in Norwich.
