Preston ― One tenant was displaced Monday afternoon after a small fire broke out at a two-family home at 129 Route 12, said Preston Fire Chief Keith Wucik.

Wucik said the fire started around 12:30 p.m. in a second-floor bedroom. The fire was contained to the bedroom and caused no injuries.

The fire was brought under control in about 15 minutes, he said. Fire departments from Preston, Norwich, and Gales Ferry, and Mohegan Firefighter Assist and Search Team responded.

The fire remains under investigation but is not suspicious, he said.
