    Area police join to serve series of outstanding warrants

    Law enforcement agencies from across southeastern Connecticut joined this week to find and arrest nine individuals with outstanding arrest warrants.

    The operation, dubbed “Operation Thunder Buddy” was spearheaded by the Ledyard Police Department and involved several months of planning and research about the locations of wanted subjects, police said in a statement.

    The Groton City, Montville, East Lyme, Waterford, New London and Norwich police departments and New London Probation participated in the sweep, along with the cooperation of local court personnel.

    The following people were among those arrested:

    Debbie Pezzente, 61, of New London was charged with violation of probation.

    Ross Melendez-Cooper, 22, of Groton was charged with first-degree failure to appear in court and second-degree failure to appear in court.

    David Swirski, 41, of Oakdale was charged with first-degree failure to appear in court.

    David Mailhotte, 31, of of Norwich was charged with violation of probation.

    Charles Arroyo, 28, of Waterford was charged with violation of probation and possession of narcotics.

    Edward Zubritsky, 31, of Uncasville was charged with violation of probation.

    Ashley Serrano, 35, of New London was charged with failure to respond to an infraction and second-degree failure to appear in court.

    Richard Tryon, 62, of New London was charged with violation of probation and second-degree failure to appear in court.

    Demarc Leach, 27, of Ledyard was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
