Police still seeking info on Norwich man missing since 2021

Norwich ― Police continue to seek a missing 20-year-old city man with autism who was last seen in the winter 2021 in New London.

On Dec. 22, 2021, police say Ethan Adam Hester got off of a Southeast Area Transit bus at the New London Union Station terminal and walked toward the Amtrak station and out of sight, police said. Hester was never seen or heard from again.

He was reported missing immediately after his disappearance but police in a statement on Tuesday said all leads have been exhausted.

Hester was last seen wearing black pants, black shoes, a black puffer jacket, orange backpack, a black face mask and black headphones. Police said Hester is diagnosed with autism, is possibly suicidal and may also go by a female name Ava.

The Norwich Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Hester. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Detective Peter Karasuk at (860) 886-5561, ext. 3138, by email at pkarasuk@cityofnorwich.org or by calling the department’s anonymous tip line at (860) 886-5561, ext. 4. All information can be kept confidential.
