East Lyme ― Police have identified the second victim in a fatal Jan. 12 fire as 46-year-old Otolegile Morulane, the caretaker for the 95-year-old homeowner also killed in the fire.

Both Morulane and Merril Lozanov died of smoke inhalation and thermal injuries in the fire at 13 Willow Lane, the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said. The deaths were ruled accidental.

Police said Morulane is from Botswana, Africa.

The East Lyme fire marshal, with help from the state police Fire & Explosion Investigation Unit and East Lyme police, continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
