Pickup truck damages three homes in New London

New London ― Police say a driver sustained minor injuries Tuesday afternoon after his pickup truck struck three homes in the area of 77 Hempstead St.

The driver, unnamed by press time, was charged with failure to drive right.

Police said they responded with firefighters to a report of a vehicle into a house at 4:20 p.m. Police said the truck had left the road and damaged three homes. The driver was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital.

Building officials inspected the homes but the minor structural damage they found did not displace the people who lived there. Police are investigating the crash.
