    Westbrook Police Incident Report for June 12 to 14

    The Harbor News publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Clinton, Westbrook, and Old Saybrook. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.     • A larceny was investigated at 99 Knothe Hill Road by Officer Lawrence Merrill at 5:46 p.m. No details were available at press time.

    • A 24 year-old Meriden man was arrested at 5:45 a.m. and charged with larceny in the sixth degree and conspiracy to commit larceny in the sixth degree. He was held in lieu of a $15,000 surety bond pending court presentation on the same day of arrest.

    • A 19 year-old woman of Venice, Florida was issued a citation at 12:22 a.m. for traveling too fast for conditions and failure to maintain the proper lane of a multiple lane highway after she lost control of the vehicle she was operating northbound on Winthrop Road and crashed into a guard rail on the southbound side of the road. A 23 year-old man and an 18 year-old woman, both of Old Saybrook, were passengers onboard. No injuries were reported at the scene.

    • At 1:06 a.m. Trooper Matthew Ward reported that a 30 year-old man of Woods Edge Lane was operating a 1999 Dodge Caravan southbound on Pond Meadow Road in the area of boon Circle when the vehicle veered across the road for an unknown reason and struck a wire rope guard rail and a telephone pole. The operator then evaded the scene. No injuries were reported and no enforcement action was taken until the case could be thoroughly investigated.
