    Chester Police Incident Report for July 23 to 29

    The Valley Courier publishes a Police Incident Report to inform residents of incidents, criminal activities, and police responses occurring in the towns of Essex, Deep River, and Chester. As those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty, the report does not include names. It may be edited for space and content.

    Wednesday, July 23

    No arrests were made and no incidents were reported.

    Thursday, July 24

    No arrests were made.

    • A 50 year-old woman of Johnson Road was issued a citation at 10:55 a.m. for failure to grant right of way at an intersection after she made a left turn onto West Main Street from High Street and struck a passing right-of-way vehicle operated by a 35 year old Glastonbury woman. No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

    Friday, July 25 - Saturday, July 26

    No arrests were made and no incidents were reported.

    Sunday, July 27

    No arrests were made.

    • A 64 year-old man of New York, New York was issued a verbal warning at 3:26 p.m. for failure to drive right after the 2002 Subaru Outback he was operating westbound on Route 148 drifted to the right, traveled off the roadway, and flipped onto its left side. The operator and his 12 year old daughter were transported to the Middlesex Shoreline Clinic in Westbrook for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the crash. The crash occurred on Route 148 four tenths of a mile west of Sypher Road.
