Groton  — A truck driving in the 1300 block of Flanders Road snagged some utility wires, damaged a utility pole and transformer, and caused live wires to fall on an occupied vehicle, police said.

Groton Town Lt. John Varone said the occupants of the vehicle were trapped briefly inside the car.

Fire officials and an Eversource crew were able to deactivate the wires, allowing the people to exit the car safely. No injuries were reported.

Traffic in the area of Route 184 and Rogers Road was diverted as repairs were being made.
