Stabbing victim dropped off at L+M Hospital overnight

New London — A stabbing victim was dropped off at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital about 11:44 p.m. Monday, Capt. Brian Wright confirmed, prompting police to launch an investigation.

Wright said the man sustained multiple stab wounds in the incident, which took place at 268 Bank St. Wright said the injuries are serious but not life-threatening and the victim’s vital signs are stable.

L+M officials called on police to investigate after the victim showed up at the hospital. Wright said officers searched the area and located the person who dropped off the victim. That person helped police identify 268 Bank St., where DB Mart is located, as the location of the stabbing.

Police said they processed multiple crime scenes related to the incident and have developed "suspect information."

Police on Monday afternoon arrested a 52-year-old city man, Michael Little, in a parking lot at the same Bank Street address. Officers had been in the area to address drug activity and charged Little with intent to sell synthetic marijuana, among other things.

It's unclear if the two events are related.
