Septic tank truck rolls over in Stonington

Stonington — The driver of a septic tank truck was injured late Monday morning when his truck rolled over on Pequot Trail near Deans Mill Road Extension.

The driver, who police say was trapped in the truck but was conscious, was transported by Life Star helicopter to an area hospital. His condition and name were not available.

Police said the truck was heading west on Pequot Trail about 11:30 a.m. when the driver lost control and went off the road.

The truck is owned by Royal Flush, with offices in the Bronx, N.Y., and Bridgeport. Police, who are reconstructing the accident, said the tank did not rupture.

Sections of Pequot Trail were closed as police and firefighters assisted the driver and cleared the road.

The man was extricated by the Old Mystic Fire Department, which was assisted by the North Stonington Volunteer Fire Company, Pawcatuck Fire Department, Wequetequock Fire Department, Stonington Ambulance Corps and Lawrence + Memorial paramedics.
