UPDATED: New London police investigate Sunday afternoon shooting

New London — Police are investigating the shooting of a juvenile male in the leg in the area of 48 Prest St. late Sunday afternoon.

Polcie said they responded at approximately 5:50 pm after receiving a call reporting possible shots fired in the area of a Prest Street and Connecticut Ave. Police cordoned off a section of the street. Officers could be seen inside the house at that address.

The victim was transported to Lawrence + Memorial. Police said his injury did not appear to be life threatening. Police said the area was canvassed by officers and detectives collected evidence.
