Woman arrested after Groton City stabbing Sunday

Groton — A Groton woman was charged with second- and third-degree assault Sunday in connection with a stabbing that occurred in the City of Groton that day, town police said.

About 5:47 p.m. Sunday, City of Groton Police responded to a call reporting that a man had been stabbed in the neck and hip on Shennecossett Road.

Upon arrival, police located the victim, who has not been identified, while he was walking away from a residence and applying pressure to his neck and hip. The victim was transported to an unnamed medical facility, where he received further medical attention. Police then arrested the woman who they believe stabbed the victim.
