UPDATED: East Lyme police: Woman dropped child, struck husband with car

East Lyme — Town police said a 35-year-old Niantic woman allegedly dropped her 18-month-old daughter in her home Monday, causing a minor injury to the child.

Police said the woman's husband called 911 and was standing behind the vehicle trying to stop her from driving because he said she was intoxicated, when the woman, Natalee Longhenry, backed into the man, causing a minor injury.

Longhenry later came back to the home and was arrested by police. She was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a minor, and disorderly conduct. Police categorized the incident as one of domestic violence.

Longhenry is scheduled to appear Tuesday in New London Superior Court.
