Norwich — A man accused of leaving the scene of a crash earlier this month is facing new charges after police said they found him with more than 100 bags of fentanyl Wednesday.

Police said they arrested Jared Minski, 28, of Jewett City after an investigation into drug dealing in Norwichtown. Police charged him with possession of fentanyl and possession of fentanyl with intent to sell. Held on a $50,000 bond, Minski was due Thursday in Norwich Superior Court.

Police earlier this month charged him with crashing near the William W. Backus Hospital and leaving the scene.

Police said a city K-9 connected Minski to the April 6 crash, which caused no injuries. He was charged with following too closely, evading responsibility, driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance, misuse of marker plates and possession of narcotics.

Anyone with drug-related information can call the Narcotic Unit at (860) 886-5561, ext. 3152.
