UPDATED: Person extricated in hit-and-run rollover crash in New London

New London — A driver fled the scene of a crash that left another vehicle on its side with an occupant trapped inside Thursday night, police said.

Police said the two-car crash happened near Briggs Street and Mohegan Avenue Parkway at 10:18 p.m. Firefighters freed the trapped person, who was taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

Police said the injuries were not life-threatening.

Police had not yet found the evading driver as of Friday morning. The investigation is active.
