    4 injured in head-on crash in Lisbon

    Lisbon — Four people were injured, two seriously, in a head-on crash here Tuesday night, police said.

    The crash occurred at 8:47 p.m. Tuesday on Route 12 River Road when a woman who was driving with an 11-year-old girl in her vehicle crossed over the double yellow line and struck another vehicle head-on, according to Connecticut State Police at Troop E in Montville.

    Denise Stack, 38, of Colchester was driving her Kia Sorento southbound on Route 12 when she crossed into the northbound lane just south of the Bundy Hill Road intersection, police said.

    Stack's vehicle struck a Hyundai Accent driven by 25-year-old Preston resident Jerry Marcel. Marcel and a passenger in his vehicle, 24-year-old Joylinda Moet of Norwich, were both taken by ambulance to the William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich with serious injuries, police said.

    Marcel and Moet were both wearing seat belts and their airbags deployed, police said.

    Stack and the girl riding in her vehicle also were taken to Backus Hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. They both were wearing their seat belts, police said.

    Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

    The accident still is being investigated, police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Troop E by calling (860) 848-6500.
