New London man charged in stabbing
New London — A New London man has been charged in the stabbing of a 27-year-old woman Friday, police said.
Kyle McKinnon, 27, of 32 Belden St. was charged Friday with criminal attempt at murder, carrying a dangerous weapon and breach of peace.
McKinnon allegedly stabbed the woman at 17 Belden Court about 12:54 p.m. Friday. The victim, who was not identified and who sustained “a severe stab wound” to her upper torso, was transported to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for emergency medical care, police said in a news release.
She was awake and alert when she was transported, New London Fire Department Battalion Chief Jonathan Paige told The Day, after his department responded to the incident.
The victim and McKinnon knew each other, police said.
