North Stonington — A family that was missing on a Lantern Hill trail was found safe after a police search Saturday afternoon.

The parents and two young children were hiking when they became lost and called police for help about 7 p.m., according to Connecticut State Police at Troop E in Montville.

State police, Ledyard police, and the Ledyard and North Stonington fire departments responded to the area and found the family by 7:50 p.m., police said.
