Norwich -- City and Greenville firefighters quickly extinguished a fire in a wall at the Kent Apartments early Sunday afternoon.

According to the city fire department, firefighters were dispatched to the building at 32 Spaulding St. at 12:39 p.m. When they arrived, they found flames and smoke coming from the wall between the first and second floor outside apartment 38A. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished. There were no injuries and residents were allowed to return to their apartments.

The city fire marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire.
