New London — Police are seeking suspects in a shooting incident late Monday afternoon in the area of Colman and Vauxhall streets.

Police responded to the area at 4:05 p.m. for reports of gunfire. At the scene, police said they found spent bullet casings and learned that two vehicles had fled the area at a high rate of speed.

Police said they contacted area hospitals but have not learned of any gunshot victims. The incident does not appear to be a random act, police said in a statement.
