    WNBA roundup

    Fever 78, Lynx 75

Katie Douglas scored 22 points, including the go-ahead basket with just over a minute to play, to help Indiana beat Minnesota Sunday night.

Tamika Catchings added 17 for Indiana, while Maya Moore led Minnesota with 21 points.

The Lynx held a six-point lead in the fourth quarter, but Douglas and Catchings hit 3s on back-to-back possessions to tie the score at 67 with 5:37 left.

The teams traded baskets until Douglas hit a running jump shot from the free-throw line to put Indiana on top 75-73 with 1:06 to go. She later hit one of two free throws to build the Fever lead to three with 20 seconds left.

Seimone Augustus had a chance to tie the game at the line with 8.0 seconds left but she missed the first of three free throws. Jeanette Pohlen hit two free throws on the other end, and Lindsay Whalen's 3-pointer rimmed out at the buzzer to seal the win for Indiana.

The Lynx were active on the fast break, outscoring Indiana 13-2 in transition in the first half and 16-4 for the game. Indiana countered with its long-distance shooting, hitting 8 of 18 3-point attempts.

Moore scored 17 points in the first half, hitting 3 of 4 from beyond the arc to help the Lynx rally from an 11-point deficit to take a 41-40 lead at the break.

Pohlen buried a 3 from the corner to give Indiana its largest lead of the first half at 29-18 early in the second quarter. But Minnesota rallied behind Whalen, who hit two buckets and triggered two fast-break baskets as part of a 10-0 run that cut the Fever lead to one with 5:36 to play in the half.

    Liberty 77, Sparks 67

Cappie Pondexter scored 22 points to lead New York to a victory over Los Angeles.

Essence Carson had 18 points, Plenette Pierson added 16 and the Liberty (4-4) got their first win at Prudential Center, their new home for the next three seasons while Madison Square Garden undergoes renovations during the summers. New York had lost its first two at home earlier this month.

Candace Parker scored 16 points and Tina Thompson had 14 to lead Los Angeles (4-3). Parker, who was limited to 10 games last year due to a shoulder injury, appeared to injure her right knee with about 6 minutes to go in the third quarter. After staying down on the court while holding her knee for a few minutes, she limped off the court and went to the locker room and did not return.

After the game, Sparks coach Jennifer Gillom said she didn't know what Parker's status was, and that the star forward was going to get an MRI exam, though she was uncertain whether it was going to be in New York or back in Los Angeles.

"We're just hoping for the best," Gillom said. "We've played without her before so we just have to focus on getting to the next game and playing hard, having people step up."

    Silver Stars 92, Dream 86

Jia Perkins scored 25 points, rookie Danielle Adams added 19 and San Antonio beat Atlanta to improve to an WNBA best 6-1.

San Antonio is off to the best start in its 15-year history.

Coco Miller finished with 19 points and Angel McCoughtry had 15 for the Dream (2-7), losers of two straight.

Atlanta blew the seven-point lead it had after Miller's free throw with 5:02 remaining.

The Silver Stars never trailed after Becky Hammon drew a foul from Courtney Paris and hit a pair of three throws for an 81-79 lead with 1:53 left in the game.

Hammon had 17 points and six assists.

Paris had 11 rebounds for the Dream.

    Mystics 83, Shock 63

Crystal Langhorne scored 23 points, Nicky Anosike added 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Washington snapped a four-game losing streak.

Matee Ajavon added 21 points and four steals for the Mystics (2-5).

Liz Cambage scored 15 points and Sheryl Swoopes finished with 11 for the Shock (1-8). They've lost three straight games.
