    WNBA roundup

Maya Moore scored 23 points and Minnesota beat Phoenix on Friday night to end the Mercury's eight-game winning streak.

Lindsay Whalen added 15 points for Minnesota (6-6), Seimone Augustus had 14, and Sylvia Fowles finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds. The defending champion Lynx have won three in a row after losing five of six.

Diana Taurasi scored 23 points for Phoenix (10-4), and Brittney Griner had 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Whalen scored six points during Minnesota's 12-4 opening run, and Moore hit a 3-pointer to push the lead to 40-19 midway through the second quarter. Taurasi scored eight points, Sancho Lyttle converted a 3-point play and Briann January hit a 3-pointer during a 14-6 run that pulled Phoenix within eight with four minutes to play. But Rebekkah Brunson answered with a layup and, after a turnover by Taurasi, Fowles added a basket to make it 73-61 with three minutes left.

    Wings 101, Sparks 72

Liz Cambage scored 20 points on 9-of-10 shooting and Aerial Powers had 16 points and eight rebounds to help Dallas rout Los Angeles.

Allisha Gray scored 15 points, Azura Stevens added 13 and Skylar Diggins-Smith, who finished with a season-low six points, had 11 assists — one shy of her career best set in 2014 — for Dallas (6-5).

Stevens made a layup and then, after she blocked Candace Parker's shot on the other end, sandwiched a pair of 3-pointers around a layup by Parker before Glory Johnson hit free throws to give Dallas the lead for good at 24-16. Allisha Gray made a 3-pointer to spark a 14-0 run, during which Cambage scored seven points, that made it 45-28 late in the first half and L.A. trailed by double figures the rest of the way.

Nneka Ogwumike, the only Sparks player to score in double figures, finished with 17 points.

Los Angeles (9-3) had its five-game win streak snapped.

The Wings shot a season-high 53.1 percent from the field, including 12 of 25 from 3-point range.

    Mystics 93, Sky 77

Elena Delle Donne scored 22 of her 30 points in the first half as Washington downed Chicago.

Delle Donne added 10 rebounds, six assists and two blocks. Kristi Tolliver scored 13 points — all in the first half — and Monique Currie added 11 for the Mystics (8-5).

Delle Donne scored nine points over the first 4½ minutes as Washington opened a 16-6 lead and Tolliver sandwiched a pair of 3-pointers around a jumper by Chicago's Jamierra Faulkner to make it 30-19 at the end of the first quarter. Monique Currie and Delle Donne hit back-to-back 3s to push the lead to 23 points late in the second quarter and Tolliver added another trey to give the Mystics their biggest lead at 64-39 going into the break.

The Sky (3-9) outscored Washington 26-12 in the third quarter and used an 8-2 run early in the fourth to make it 80-74 after Kahleah Copper's layup with 6:36 to play but got no closer.

Allie Quigley scored 21 points and Stefanie Dolson — playing for the first time since May 25 due to a hamstring injury — added 13 points in 15 minutes of action for Chicago. The Sky have lost six in a row.

    Aces 88, Liberty 78

Kayla McBride scored a season-high 27 points and rookie A'ja Wilson had her third consecutive double-double to help Las Vegas beat the New York.

Wilson finished with 20 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks and McBride made 4 of 5 from 3-point range.

Wilson converted a 3-point play to give the Aces a 10-8 lead midway through the first quarter, and they never again trailed. New York (4-7) tied it three times in the fourth quarter before McBride scored 10 points in the final seven minutes to help Las Vegas pull away for good.

Tina Charles led New York with 14 points, Kia Nurse scored 13 and Amanda Zahui B. added 12 points — her most since scoring 15 in the season opener.

Aces coach Bill Laimbeer — who coached the Liberty from 2013-2017, including a trip to the 2015 Eastern Conference Finals — improved to 2-0 against his former team. Las Vegas won 78-63 at New York on June 13.

Las Vegas has won four of its last six games. The Aces, who relocated from San Antonio in the offseason, haven't won more than eight games in a season since going 16-18 in 2014.

    Storm 72, Fever 63

Jewell Loyd had 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting and Natasha Howard added 11 points, nine rebounds and four blocks to help Seattle beat Indiana.

Breanna Stewart scored 15 points for the Storm (9-4).

Jordin Canada hit a floater to give Seattle the lead for good at 27-26 and the Storm used an 11-2 run that spanned halftime to make it 43-32 early in the second half. The lead hovered around 10 points until a 13-4 run, capped by Tiffany Mitchell's two free throws with 44.5 seconds left, pulled the Fever within six.

Candice Dupree led Indiana (1-12) with 15 points, Erica Wheeler had 13, and Mitchell added 11. The Fever shot just 34.7 percent (25 of 27) from the field, including 5 of 19 from 3-point range.
