    H.S. soccer roundup: Unbeaten Stonington boys edge Waterford

    Waterford – Stonington High School remained unbeaten with a 1-0 win over Waterford Friday night in Eastern Connecticut Conference Division II boys’ soccer action.

    Jackson Gothie scored the game-winner off an assist from Landon Pelletier for the Bears, who improved to 5-0-1, 3-0.

    The Lancers dipped to 3-2-1, 1-1.

    In other games:

    • East Lyme stayed perfect in ECC Division I play with a 2-0 win over Woodstock Academy. Ian Cambridge and Ryan Wargo had first-half goals for the Vikings (4-2, 2-0). Diego Virgen assisted on Cambridge’s goal and Connor Piper (six) and Benjamin Johnson combined for eight saves for East Lyme.

    • Goalie Jonah Lathrop made nine saves in Old Lyme’ 3-1 win over Haddam-Killingworth in Shoreline Conference action. Mason Bussman, Aidan Kerrigan and Luke Celic scored for the Wildcats (3-3, 3-2) while Anders Silberberg and Lucas Dasillva each added an assist.

    • Wheeler and Putnam played to a 0-0 tie in an ECC Division IV game. Wheeler outshot Putnam 8-4 and had eight corner kicks but couldn’t score. Jon Anderson made three saves for Wheeler (2-3-1, 1-0-1).

    • Steven Laliberte’s three goals help power Bacon Academy past Griswold, 6-0. Dante Ricci, Nico Matteucci and J.P. Fougerouse also scored for the Bobcats (3-1-2). Dylan Fryer made 15 saves for the Wolverines (3-2).

    • Felipe Dantas scored Fitch’s only goal in a 5-1 loss to Norwich Free Academy in ECC Division II. The Falcons slipped to 1-4, 0-2. The Wildcats are 2-2-1, 2-1.

    • Calvin Neff scored Williams School’s only goal in a 2-1 loss to Hamden Hall. The Blues fell to 2-3.

    • Zach Lamitie scored two first-half goals and Norwich Tech went on to beat Goodwin Tech, 3-0, in the Connecticut Technical Conference. Calen Bergeron closed out the scoring for the Warriors (5-0), who’ve yet to allow a goal this season.

    • Reid Whitfield scored a breakaway goal in Grasso Tech’s 6-1 loss to Wilcox Tech in the CTC. The Eagles fell to 0-3-1.

    Girls

    • Kate Bowman scored and assisted on Avery Bouchey’s goal in Montville’s 2-0 victory over Windham in ECC Division III play. Nicole Hudson added an assist and goalie Sienna Gressly had two saves. Montville is 4-2, 3-0.

    • Angelica Tompkins scored three goals to lift St. Bernard past Tourtellotte, 6-1, in ECC Division IV action. Emily Hernandez had two goals and Sienna Sferrazza added one for the Saints (4-1, 2-0) and goalie Chloe Jennings had three saves.

    • Danielle Sands, Sanaa Jackson, Kylee Morrison, Haley Tatum, Natalie Smith and Alana DaSilva each scored a goal in Grasso Tech’s 6-0 shutout of Prince Tech in the CTC, handing the Eagles (1-3-1) their first win of the season.
