    H.S. volleyball roundup: Waterford sweeps NFA for fifth straight win

    Norwich – Waterford won its fifth straight match with a 3-0 volleyball victory over Norwich Free Academy on Friday.

    Games scores were 25-16, 25-17 and 25-19.

    Marina Colonis had four kills, 13 digs and three aces for the Lancers (7-3) while Lillian Steinhaus added 18 assists, nine digs and three aces, Emerson Lane had five kills and three blocks and Erica Mugovero had four aces.

    Stella Hogan have five kills and four digs for the Wildcats (2-5) while Emma McAvoy added 13 assists and Katelyn Friday had three aces and six digs.

    In other matches:

    • Unbeaten Griswold was extended to five games for the first time this season before defeating Woodstock Academy 25-14, 25-23, 20-25, 19-25 and 16-14. Kuranda Ruggiero led the Wolverines (7-0) with 22 assists, nine kills, 19 digs and five aces while Kierra Neilson had seven kills, one block and four digs, Makayla Neilson three kills and three blocks and Emily Aviles 31 digs.

    • East Lyme rolled to a 24-15, 25-18 and 27-25 victory over Ledyard. Mia Williams had seven digs, Sydney Latham nine kills and Carolyn Place 10 kills for the Vikings (6-3). Bryleigh Johnson had 12 digs for the Colonels (3-6) while Grace Haydash added eight kills.

    • Montville defeated New London 3-0 by game scores of 25-6, 25-13 and 25-18. Reagan Buscetto had eight assists, two kills, three digs and an ace for Montville (4-6) while Karla Flores had three kills, three aces and two digs, Zoie Farrar had seven Kills, seven aces, five digs and two assists, and Alyna Ovalles had eight digs, one kill and one ace. Nalyce Dudley had 25 digs, two kills and an ace for the Whalers (0-8) while Nyarah Dudley added four kills and 10 digs, Serenity Lancaster two kills, two blocks and one ace, Princesse Omotosho 14 digs and one ace, Kmara Royster seven digs, two blocks and one kill, and Myrna Pratts 11 digs.

    • Fitch outlasted Bacon Academy in four games, 25-23, 25-13, 23-25 and 25-21. Annalyn Cahill had 14 kills for the Falcons (5-4), Mandy Fancher and Katie Tuohy added 11 kills apiece and Dabria Arana and Madi Aldinger combined for 44 digs. Kiera Stewart led Bacon (5-5) with 23 assists and Meghan Walsh added 10 kills.

    • Kaylee Gray had 11 kills, five digs and four aces to highlight Norwich Tech’s 3-0 victory over Windham Tech in the Connecticut Technical Conference. Game scores were 25-19, 25-14 and 25-16. Nancy Johnny added 13 assists and four aces for the Warriors (5-4, 4-2).

    • Old Lyme dropped a 3-1 decision to Hale-Ray in the Shoreline Conference. Game scores were 25-18, 25-12, 23-25 and 25-18. Peighton Andrews had 10 kills and 11 digs for the Wildcats (2-6, 2-6) while Grace Phaneuf had 17 assists and five aces and Kelly Sheehan added three blocks and 14 digs.

    Antonia Orbe had 12 service points to highlight Grass Tech’s 3-1 loss to Ellis Tech in the CTC. Game scores were 25-19, 25-21, 18-25 and 25-21. Emma Pavlak added six points and Abby Lallis one kill for the Eagles (1-6, 1-5).
