    Local roundup: Lyman girls complete 14-1-1 regular season with 5-0 win over Windham

    Mansfield — Leah Comeroski had two goals and one assist as Lyman Memorial closed out an impressive regular season with a 5-0 girls’ soccer victory over Windham on Friday night at Eastern Connecticut State University.

    Magda Carpenter added two goals for the Bulldogs, who will take a 14-1-1 record into the postseasson.

    Juliana Haynes also scored Lyman while Maddie Archer and Allyssa Judd added assists and goalie Phoebe Carpenter made eight saves.

    Windham finishes is 4-12.

    In other matches:

    • Lia Day scord two goals and Delaney Vaudrey added two assist as Ledyard rolled to a 4-0 victory over Montville, Jess English and Maddie McLeod also scored goals for the Colonels, who finished the regular season 10-5-1, and goalies Bella Drummond and Jess Dudley combined for the clean sheet. Montville is 8-6-2.

    • Emily Hernandez and Angelica Tompkins scored goals as St. Bernard battled Plainfield to a 2-2 double overtime draw. The Saints are 9-3-3.

    H.S. boys’ soccer

    • Jose Pacheco scored a pair of goals as St. Bernard beat Norwich Tech 3-0 in a non-league match. Alex Graul also scored for the Saints (13-1-1) and goalie Dan O’Brien made four saves. Mason Matthews stopped eight shots for Norwich Tech (11-3-1).

    • Old Lyme ended its regular season with a 1-1 tie against Granby on Thursday night. Anders Silberberg scored for the Wildcats (6-5-5) and goalie Jonah Lathrop made nine saves.

    H.S. swimming

    • Sandra Kirvelevicius won a pair of events as East Lyme swept a tri-meet from ECC rival Waterford and Old Lyme/Valley Regional/Old Saybrook. The Vikings (7-3, 6-2) finished with 125 points followed the Lancers (6-6, 4-4) with 46 and OL/VR/OS with 15. Kirvelevicius won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:15.69 and the 100 free in 1:00.41.

    East Lyme’s other individual winners were Julia Morcos (200 IM, 2:28.57), Lauren Hinckley (50 free, 26.47), Jennifer Park (100 butterfly, 1:08.18) and Molly Newton (100 backstroke, 1:11.05). Waterford’s individual winners were Ava Tucker (diving, 173.80 points), Julia Gathy (500 free, 5:49.10) and Hannah Blomberg (100 breaststroke, 1:29.76).

    H.S. volleyball

    • Skylar Bell had 32 digs and Shae McMunn 32 assists to highlight East Lyme’s 25-19, 25-12 and 25-18 non-league win over Valley Regional. Megan Nagle added 14 digs for the Vikings (15-4) while Carolyn Place finished with seven killls.

    • Old Lyme ended its season with a 25-17, 25-12 and 25-9 non-league win over Norwich Tech. Grace Phaneuf had six aces and 10 assists for the Wildcats, who finish 6-14, while Peighton Andrews had eight kills, and Kaitlyn Ward five kills. Caitlyn Flynn had eight digs while Autumn Hanks added seven digs and eight assists for the Warriors (10-8).

    • Grasso Tech rallied for a 20-25, 25-10, 25-14 and 25-12 win over Classical. Alanda Johnson led the Eagles (4-14) with 21 service points and four kills while Daneysha Cortes had nine points and Jamilette Montes had six kills.

    • New London ended its season with a 3-0 loss at Woodstock Academy. Game scores were 25-13, 25-14 and 25-22 as the Whalers finish the season 1-19.

    H.S. football

    • Stonington rallied from a 13-0 halftime deficit to defeat Weaver 14-13 in an ECC Division III game on Thursday night in Hartford. Following a Cooper Light interception in the third quarter, the Bears (2-4, 2-1) capitalized when Jayden Carter threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Brady Mullen to pull Stonington within six, 13-7.

    A second interception, this time by Quinn Felderman, kept Weaver out of the endzone and the Bears responded with an 81-yard drive that ended with Will French running 14 yards for a TD with 7:17 left in the game and Ethan Mahoney adding the go-ahead extra point.

    College volleyball

    • Connecticut College completed its season with a 25-13, 25-18 and 25-23 loss to Tufts in the New England Small College Athletic Conference. Katherine Randall led the Camels (7-15, 1-9) with with nine kills and a match-high 13 digs while Taylor Knott added seven kills and Zoe Watts had five.
