    Fitch boys win three relays during 42nd Tetlow Relays

    Ledyard — Fitch won three boys’ relay events, setting a school record in the 4x100-meter relay, during Monday’s 42nd Dave Tetlow Relays track and field meet.

    The Falcons’ Charles Tarbox, Nimyel Gamboa, Oakley Garrison and Adonis Fine teamed up to win the 4x100-meter in 43.0 seconds, breaking the old mark of 43.54 set in 1981.

    Fitch’s Amill Houston, Raheem Porter Carter, Bernard Drayton and Simon Adille captured the 4x400 relay in 3:53.3 and Tarbox, Gamboa, Charles Cabusao and Ryan Dunning won the 1,600 sprint medley relay in 3:41.6.

    Cabusao added a victory in the javelin (136 feet, 10 inches) for Fitch.

    Host Ledyard also had a productive day picking up wins from Gabriel Huff in the 3,200 (10:21.7), Luca Viviano in the pole vault (12-0), Jacob Lenz in the long jump (20-6) and two relay teams — the 4x1,600 team of Auguste Estriplet, Huff, Jackson Hill and Hayden Baber (19:55.4) and the distance medley team of Antonio Soldato, Paulo Templeton, Joshua Cayangyang and Mason Day (11:50.9).

    Norwich Free Academy won two of the throwing events as DeAndre Ducael captured the shot put (49-2.5) and Chris Amy the discus (140-8), while St. Bernard’s Kolby Quinn won the triple jump (41-11).

    In the girls’ meet, New London swept the three jumping events with Kmara Royster winning the high jump (5 feet), Darielys Arnold the long jump (16-10) and Tatiana Pemberton the triple jump (34-9).

    Ledyard and Lyman Memorial also won two individual events and two relays apiece.

    The Colonels’ Josephine Withbroe claimed the 3,200 (13:23.4) and Linda Holeman the javelin (97-1), while the 4x400 relay of Megan Armstrong, Samantha Doran, Ella Stephenson and Kate Littler won in 4:16.15, as did the 1,600 sprint medley relay team of Armstrong, Holeman, Stephenson and Littler (4:22.4).

    Lyman’s wins came from Emily McKelvey in the 300 hurdles (47.8) and Gabriela Dinisoe in the pole vault (10 feet), along with the 4x100 relay team of Ella Caplet, Jenny Lopez, Leah Comeroski and Dinisoe (51.1), and the distance medley relay team of Sylvie Hiltz, Magdalena Carpenter, Alyssa Judd and Hazel DeLucia (14:31.5).

    In addition, NFA’s Hannah Graham won the shot put (34-4) and St. Bernard’s Payton Lowe the discus (116-8).
