    H.S. soccer roundup: East Lyme girls rally for 2-1 win over Bacon

    East Lyme — East Lyme rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to beat Bacon Academy 2-1 in a girls’ soccer game on Tuesday.

    Riddhi Venkatesh tied the game at 1-1 in the 71st minute and Ava Lombardo gave the Vikings the lead, off an assist from Venkatesh, with eight seconds left in regulation. Lombardo assisted on the first goal and Morgan Dube made three saves for East Lyme (3-0).

    Lanie Mcllduff scored for Bacon (0-1-1) and Olivia Kelly made six saves.

    In other games:

    • Charlotte Jessuck scored four goals as Waterford beat Stonington 5-0 in its season opener. Amarys Jimenez had a goal and an assist, Camryn Dickinson had two assists and Emilia Podeszwa and Adyson Wiseman had assists for the Lancers. Payton Stone made eight saves for Stonington (1-1-1).

    • Madeline Archer scored twice as Lyman Memorial beat Wheeler 7-0 in the season opener for both teams. Emily McKelvey, Avery Volle, Haley Cardinali, Allyssa Judd and Becca Ziegler also scored for the Bulldogs. Lyman goalie Phoebe Carpenter made three saves and Wheeler’s Jill Comeau had 13 saves.

    • Grasso Tech beat Prince Tech 6-1 in a Connecticut Technical Conference game. Natalie Smith, Kylee Morrison and freshman Ziana Rodriguez scored two goals each for the Eagles (1-1, 1-1).

    • Montville scored twice in the second half and beat Windham 2-0. Sydney Cook and Avery Bouchey scored goals, Katie Koning had an assist and Katie Myjak made three saves for the Wolves (2-0).

    • Chloe Green had two goals and two assists to highlight Norwich Free Academy’s 6-0 victory over Fitch. Brooke Bolles added two goals for the Wildcats (2-0-1), who held a 21-4 edge in shots, while Coblie Gisleson had a goal and an assist, Jordan Fabry had two assists, Sadie Daniewicz scored a goal and goalie Ava Boenig made three saves. Jayda Johnson and Ellas Beckman combined for 11 saves in goal for the Falcons (0-2).

    • Mason Bussman had two goals and an assist as Old Lyme beat North Branford 8-0 in a Shoreline Conference game. Owen Snurkowski and Elliott Dunn-Sims had two goals each for the Wildcats (1-1, 1-0). Lucas Dasilva had a goal and two assists, Brenden Landry had a goal, Nicholas Sokolowski had two assists and Gavin Biega had an assist for Old Lyme.
