Local roundup: Ledyard falls in Class MM girls’ basketball tournament

West Hartford — Ledyard fell to No. 2 Northwest Catholic 67-53 in the second round of the CIAC Class MM girls’ basketball tournament on Friday night.

Adrianna Hardison led the No. 18 Colonels with 21 points. Maggie Dykes had 11 points and eight rebounds, Cassie Rice scored nine and had nine rebounds and Helen Robinson scored nine for Ledyard (14-11).

Men’s swimming

• Sean Lyman and Colin Twiss of Coast Guard have been selected to compete at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving men’s championships on March 20-23 in Greensboro, N.C.

Lyman will compete in the 400 individual medley (seeded 7th), the 1,650 freestyle (seeded 12th) and the 500 freestyle. Twiss is seeded 4th in the 200 freestyle, an event he was 12th in in 2023. He will also swim the 500 (seeded 17th) and the 100 freestyles.
