Waterford — Charlotte Jessuck had three hits and three runs scored and the Waterford High School softball team scored four times in the first inning in a 10-5 victory Wednesday over East Lyme in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division I matchup.

Paige Jessuck added two triples, Ava Waddington also had two hits and Emila Podeszwa added a two-run homer for the Lancers (3-1, 1-0). Brielle Kenney struck out 11 and walked one for Waterford.

Avery Stadler had three hits and an RBI for East Lyme (1-2, 0-1), which scored five unearned runs in the seventh.

In other games:

• Ari Scavello was 4-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored and Melanie Verbridge had three hits and an RBI to lift Stonington past Platt Tech 10-1. Cami Brown (homer, three runs scored), Bri Plew and Michaela Miner each added two hits for the Bears (4-0), who put the game away with five runs in the fifth, and Lindsey Houle struck out nine to earn the victory.

H.S. baseball

• Fitch scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, capped by a walk-off single from Pat Lindy scoring Jon White, to beat Stonington 8-7. Nate Wagner and Dom Zuliani had three hits each for the Falcons (2-1) and Nate Virtue had two hits and an RBI. Will Haugeto picked up the win in relief for Fitch, which trailed 7-2 entering the seventh.

• Dominik Kubera registered an 87-pitch complete game to lead No. 9 Killingly past East Lyme 2-1. AJ Montejano drove in Liam Cochrane with a single in the first to put East Lyme up 1-0, but the Vikings (1-2) were unable to score with runners on second and third in the third inning. Brady Zadora drove in the winning run with a single in the fifth. Connor Tukey had two hits and Aidan Cochrane struck out seven for East Lyme.

• Gabe Grossman had three hits, including a double, and four RBI and was the winning pitcher to lead Grasso Tech past Tourtellotte 30-5. The Eagles scored 16 runs in the seventh inning. Grossman struck out 10 and walked two over six innings and Yancarlos de la Cruz-Nieves went 4-for-6 in the win.

H.S. girls’ tennis

• Old Lyme won its 70th straight match, topping Coginchaug 6-1 behind singles wins from Katherine Zhang, Rose Dimmock and Ada LaConti. The Wildcats (4-0) also got doubles victories from the teams of Aggie and Beatrice Hunt, Natalie Buckley and Stella Young and Allegra Schaedler and Liza Gregiore.

H.S. boys’ tennis

• Old Lyme earned a doubles sweep to beat Coginchaug 5-2 and remain undefeated at 3-0. Mason Wells and Chris Dagher won at No. 1 singles, followed by victories by Ryan Olsen and Rowan Hovey at No. 2 and Ryan Miller and Foster Richardell at No. 3. Andy Sicuranza and Leland Hine picked up singles wins for the Wildcats.

H.S. girls’ lacrosse

• Skylar Frost had three goals and two assists and Ally Iacobellis three goals and one assist for Williams in a 10-9 loss to Bancroft. Elle Reid added two goals for the Blues (1-3), Sara Harvey one goal and Skylar Raymond, Brook McLoughlin and Maria Morant each contributed one assist. Freshman Chloe Crimmins made seven saves in goal.

H.S. boys’ lacrosse

• Mason Bussman scored four goals in Old Lyme’s 20-6 loss to Old Saybrook. Charley Halsey and Ben Goulding each added one goal for the Wildcats (2-1), who trailed 10-3 after one quarter.

H.S. boys’ volleyball

• Alec Ferland had 12 assists and five aces as Norwich Free Academy defeated Capital Prep 25-7, 25-7, 25-6. Brock Nowakowski added nine assists and Gavin Hecker six kills and five digs for the Wildcats (4-1).

Women’s lacrosse

• Kate Coughlin scored six goals for Conn College and the Camels went back and forth with No. 16 Amherst before falling 12-9. Aine Downey, Campbell Johnston and Emma Ognibene each had one goal and Caroline Barbieri, Eliza Ritter and Sydney Weber each collected three ground balls for the Camels (6-6, 2-4 NESCAC). The game was tied 5-5 at halftime and remained deadlocked at 8-8 into the fourth quarter, but Amherst scored four goals in four minutes to move in front for good.

College baseball

• Tate Scherer, a Fitch High School graduate, went 3-for-5 with a double, three RBI and three runs scored in Coast Guard Academy’s 14-3 victory over Worcester State. Wyatt Duthu and Richard Barkley homered for the Bears (12-7), who broke the game open with seven runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Tyler Michalek (1-1) earned the victory with 1.2 innings of scoreless relief.
