    H.S. softball roundup: Stonington remains unbeaten with win over Griswold

    Griswold — Stonington beat Griswold 11-10 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division III high school softball game Friday to remain unbeaten.

    Ari Scavello, Michaela Miner and Cami Brown had two hits each and Miner and Brown scored three runs each for Stonington (8-0, 3-0). Abby Matheson had four hits, including two doubles, and scored three runs for the Wolverines (5-2, 1-1).

    In other games:

    • Brielle Kenney pitched a five-hitter with 11 strikeouts and two walks as Waterford beat East Lyme 9-0 in the ECC Division I game. Grace Muti, who had two hits and scored twice, capped the game with a three-run homer in the seventh inning.

    Emilia Podeszwa had two triples and scored twice, Melanie Martin had three hits and scored three times and Ava Waddington drove in two runs for the Lancers (7-2, 3-0). Grace DuBrava singled and doubled for the Vikings (3-4, 1-3). East Lyme pitcher Abby Robinson struck out 10, including the 500th of her career.

    • Emma Robinson and Grace Cosmopoulos had three hits each as Fitch beat St. Bernard 8-3. Jillian Fugere had an inside the park home run and four RBI for the Falcons (3-2). Helena Coury drove in a run for St. Bernard (3-2).

    • Dakota Bourdon pitched a three-hitter as Norwich Free Academy beat Woodstock Academy 9-0 in an ECC Division I game. Bourdon, who struck out eight, was also 3-for-4 with a double. Madison Waltke singled and homered for the Wildcats (4-3, 2-1).

    • Kayla Terni drove in four runs and Payton Jones and Izzy Mitchell had three RBI each as Montville beat Plainfield 16-4 in an ECC Division III game. Terni was 3-for-4 with a home run, Jones had two doubles and Mitchell was 3-for-4 with a triple and two doubles for the Wolves (6-2, 1-1). Sierra Madden had two doubles for Plainfield.

    • Lyman Memorial lost to Putnam 17-11 in the ECC Division IV game. Casey Gigliotti had two doubles, Rachel Cone was 3-for-5 with three RBI and Loretta Svedarsky scored three runs for Lyman (0-5, 0-2).
