Berndt wins SK Modifieds race as Speedbowl opens its 73rd season

Waterford — Eric Berndt held off Jon Puleo to win the 73-lap SK Modifieds race on Sunday as the New London-Waterford Speedbowl opened its 73rd season.

Puleo finished second with Tim Jordan, Andrew Molleur and Todd Owen rounding out the top five.

Other winners included Jason Palmer (Late Models), Al Stone III (Street Stocks), John O’Sullivan III (SK Lights), Tyler Chapman (Trucks), David Lee (Mini Stocks) and Zachary Martinez (Legend Cars).

Wild ‘n Wacky Wednesday drivers were the stars of the show on Saturday of Blast Off 2024. PJ Childs won the Super X-Cars race, Sam Mesick won the X-Cars race and David Bernier won the Bandoleros race. Todd Taylor won the Pro Truck Challenge and Matt Swanson won the Modified Racing Series event.
