    The Kate hosts Boston comics

What better way to ease into the new year than by laughing?

You can do that at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, which is bringing in the Best of Boston Comedy Festival on Friday and Saturday.

    The lineup:

Jim McCue, who made a splash with his DryBar special “nothing personal,” has been on everything from Comedy Central to NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.”

Casey Crawford is an absurdist comedian who, according to his press, “tells dumb, dirty one-liners loosely based on his Midwestern origins and his cross country travels.”

Caroline Cooke is a stand-up comedian AND a content creator who has worked in marketing, sales, and client management in the employee health and wellness industry.

Jack Lynch has performed at venues include The Borgata Casino in Atlantic City, The Improv in Miami Beach, and The Punchline in Atlanta.

Best of Boston Comedy Festival, 8 p.m. Fri. and Sat., Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, 300 Main St., Old Saybrook; $30; (860) 510-0453, katharinehepburntheater.org.
