Saybrook Stage Company performs ‘Blithe Spirit’

Saybrook Stage Company is back at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, and the local theater group is staging the Noel Coward comedy “Blithe Spirit.”

The plot revolves around ghosts and former wives. Charles is an author whose deceased first wife, Elvira, is accidentally brought back in ghost form. Elvira causes her share of mayhem, but Charles’ current wife, Ruth, thinks this ghost isn’t real. Added to the mix is a medium named Madame Arcati, who is brought in to get rid of Elvira.

The cast features Amy Bentley, Mary Corigliano, Terri Corigliano, Mark Gilchrist, Alicia James, Barbara Schreier and Kevin Spedding.

“Blithe Spirit,” 7:30 p.m. Thurs., 8 p.m. Fri. and Sat., and 2 p.m. Sun., Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, 300 Main St., Old Saybrook; $15-$25; (860) 510-0453, katharinehepburntheater.org.
