    Ivoryton Playhouse stages ‘Jersey Boys

I’m not sure how they can wedge a storyline into “Jersey Boys,” considering all the hit singles that the show’s main characters, The Four Seasons and Frankie Valli, had.

Here are just a few: “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night),” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” “Who Loves You,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Working My Way Back to You” …

I’ve exhausted myself just typing the titles. Suffice is to say that you’ll know most, if not all, of the songs in the stage show. But the storyline is ably woven in there, and it’s about the rise, success and eventual breakup of The Four Seasons.

The musical, which won a Tony for Best Musical, features a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, music by Bob Gaudio, and lyrics by Bob Crewe.

“Jersey Boys” opens Thursday at the Ivoryton Playhouse and runs for a month.

“Jersey Boys,” Aug. 10-Sept. 10, Ivoryton Playhouse, 103 Main St., Ivoryton; 2 and 7 p.m. Wed., 7:30 p.m. Thurs., 8 p.m. Fri. and Sat., and 2 p.m. Sun.; $60 for adults, $55 seniors, $25 students; the show contains “profane Jersey language” and is recommended for ages 12 and older; (860) 767-7318, ivorytonplayhouse.org.
