911 disturbance call leads to 2 dead bodies in Coventry

COVENTRY, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut state police say a 911 call reporting a disturbance at a home in Coventry triggered the intervention of a regional SWAT team and the discovery of two dead bodies.

State Police Lt. J. Paul Vance announced on Saturday that Coventry police received the emergency call reporting the incident possibly involved guns Friday, at about 10:14 p.m.

Officers who responded to the scene secured the area and tried to communicate with people at the State Road home without success. Members of a regional SWAT team got into the home nearly three hours later and found two dead people inside.

State police detectives investigating the incident say the deaths were a result of a murder-suicide.

Police were withholding the names of the dead because relatives had not been notified.
