UPDATED: Trooper fatally shoots Milford robbery suspect

Milford (AP) — State Police say a trooper fatally shot a robbery suspect at a Milford gas station.

Spokeswoman Master Sgt. Donna Tadiello said the unidentified trooper was patrolling Milford and interrupted an armed robbery shortly after 3 a.m. Wednesday. She said the trooper ordered the unidentified suspect to drop his weapon. The man refused and was fatally shot.

Tadiello said the trooper and store clerk were not shot. The trooper was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
