Bradley Airport open, but many flights canceled

Windsor Locks (AP) — Airfields at Connecticut's Bradley International Airport have been cleared of snow and operations have resumed, but many airlines canceled flights because of the winter storm that slammed the Northeast.

Kevin Dillon, executive director of the Connecticut Airport Authority, says six passenger flights departed the airport Friday morning. The airport's website shows more than a dozen flights canceled.

He says the first flight into the Windsor Locks airport is due in at 9:45 a.m. from Detroit.

Dillon says that because crews were plowing and shoveling since midnight, the airfields are in great shape.

The airport advises passengers or those expecting to greet passengers on incoming flights to call airlines for schedule information.
