    Naugatuck police officer rescues baby goose from storm drain

    NAUGATUCK — Police officers rescued a baby goose that had fallen into a Prospect Street storm drain Sunday morning, officials say.

    In posts on social media, the Naugatuck Police Department said day shift officers came to the rescue after a resident reported a baby goose had wandered away from its family and fallen into a storm drain.

    "Working together, officers were able to free the little one from a storm drain, and returned it back to its family safe and sound," they said. "We applaud the commitment and compassion of our officers for all of our Naugatuck residents."
