Rhode Island officers pull over motorcycle club, find zero violations

HOPKINTON, R.I. — Rhode Island police officers who pulled over about 100 members of a motorcycle club have come up empty-handed.

The Providence Journal reports Rhode Island State Police pulled over members of the Pagans motorcycle club on Route 95 in Hopkinton Saturday afternoon as part of an "investigatory stop."

State police spokeswoman Laura Meade Kirk says officers did not find any violations and made no arrests during the stop. She says the motorcyclists continued to a rally in Fall River.

The stop comes as state police stepped up their investigations into rival biker clubs.

Authorities arrested more than 50 people associated with motorcycle clubs in May on various guns and weapons charges.
