Police seize 43 guns from Connecticut man charged with domestic violence

Editor’s note: All charges were dismissed by the court.

CORNWALL (AP) — Authorities have seized 43 guns from a Connecticut man after responding to a domestic violence call.

Police arrested Cornwall resident William Dinneen on Sunday after receiving a call from his girlfriend alleging he choked her because she would not give him his phone back. He faces three misdemeanors of disorderly conduct, third-degree assault, second-degree threatening and one felony of second-degree strangulation.

According to police, the woman had injuries consistent with being choked. She said she had taken his phone away so he would pay attention while cooking and he flew into a rage. She also alleged he had been drinking.

Authorities seized guns and ammunition from his home and held them pending his next court date on Oct. 10.

No attorney was listed for Dinneen in online court records.
