Hallmark Christmas movie filming in Hartford looking for extras

A Connecticut film production company that specializes in Hallmark Christmas movies, has put out a casting call for extras for a movie to be shot in Hartford from Sept. 7 to 24.

The movie is set in Harlem but will be shot in Hartford, primarily centering on Capitol Avenue.

Everyone cast in the movie “Christmas in Harlem” must take a COVID test and show negative results.

Hilary Greer of HBG Casting said 20 to 25 extras who are hired will be chosen to work multiple days. Those who apply the earliest will be more likely to be chosen for multiple days.

Greer said those not chosen for this film will be entered into HBG Casting’s database for future opportunities. “After this one we have ‘A Sugar Plum Christmas’ being shot in Norwich. Another one after that is called ‘Royal Gossip,’ which will be shot in Connecticut also,” she said.

Synthetic Cinema, based in Rocky Hill, has produced numerous Christmas movies, many of them in Connecticut, including “The Noel Diary,” “One Royal Holiday,” “A Very Nutty Christmas,” “Christmas on Honeysuckle Lane,” “Christmas at Pemberley Manor” and “A Very Merry Toy Store.”
