UConn can put the finishing touches on its sixth straight American Athletic Conference regular-season women's basketball title on Tuesday when the Huskies finish off a quick two-game, three-day road trip at Wichita State (7:30 p.m., SNY).

The Huskies (25-2, 13-0), who moved up to No. 2 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll on Monday, clinched the No. 1 overall seed for the upcoming AAC tournament at Mohegan Sun Arena with their 68-49 victory over Tulsa on Sunday.

Associated head coach Chris Dailey guided UConn to that victory while head coach Geno Auriemma remained back in Connecticut with an illness, but Auriemma is expected to travel to Kansas and return to the team for Tuesday's game against the Shockers (11-15, 4-9).

"I think he's getting a lot of attention over this," Dailey joked following Sunday's game. "He's getting a lot of attention. I tried to give him a hard time. 'You know, (Georgia women's coach) Joni Taylor had a baby and coached two days later. So, what are you doing? Suck it up.'"

Auriemma hadn't missed a game since the 1997 Big East tournament following the death of his father.

"I was glad that he actually paid attention to what the doctor said. I knew that if he went to the doctor, it had to be pretty bad for him to go," Dailey said. "So, he wasn't really feeling well. There was still a hope that he was going to surprise us at the airport and make the trip, but I pretty much knew (Saturday) morning that it was going to be the best thing for him not to be able to make that trip."

UConn struggled offensive against Tulsa, but dominated on the defensive end and got a big lift from sophomore Megan Walker, had led the Huskies with 21 points and also pulled down 10 rebounds.

Senior Napheesa Collier also had a double-double (12 points, 15 rebounds) and passed Rebecca Lobo into 10th place on UConn's career scoring list with 2,137. Collier needs only five points to pass Kara Wolter for ninth place and 20 to surpass program legend Diana Taurasi and into eighth place.

Classmate Katie Lou Samuelson is No. 4 on the career list with 2,230 points.

UConn is 1-0 all-time against the Shockers, winning the first meeting a year ago in Storrs 124-43. This will be the Huskies' first trip to Charles Koch Arena. And while all five UConn starters average in double figures, Wichita State's lead scorer Carla Bremaud averages only 9.7 points per game.

Following Tuesday's game, the Huskies will play their final regular-season game on Saturday against Houston at Gampel Pavilion (1 p.m.). Seniors Collier and Samuelson will be honored during pre-game ceremonies and UConn will retire Lobo's number 50 during a halftime ceremony.
