Dancer's family working toward a cure for blindness

Sofia Priebe, 17, of Ledyard, was diagnosed at age 4 with Leber congenital amaurosis or LCA, a rare genetic disorder that doctors say will someday leave her completely blind. Sofia's parents, Laura Manfre and Charles Priebe, founded a nonprofit organization - Sofia Sees Hope - to raise money for genetic research and connect other families with rare retinal diseases.
