    Brian Setzer Orchestra celebrates Christmas

Do you think, way back in 2005, when rockabilly star Brian Setzer jokingly wrote a few holiday tunes like "Santa Drives a Hot Rod" and "Hey, Santa," that he'd still be required to play the damned things? Hell, no!

But they're popular. And, indeed, the Pompadour'd One brings his Brian Setzer Orchestra for a performance in Foxwoods' Grand Theater as part of his 12th annual "Christmas Rocks!" tour.

Over all that time, several things have happened. Electricians had to re-wire Rudolph's nose. Santa had a knee and a hip replacement. Two elves died of old age (156 and 203, respectively). Frosty melted. Again.

But! No time for sorrow! Not with Setzer blowing into town on his six-string sleigh to spread musical cheer. The show takes place Friday, and Low Volts appear in support.

    Brian Setzer's "Christmas Rocks!," 8 p.m. Friday, Grand Theater, Foxwoods; $20, $40; 1-800-200-2882.
