Don Henley hits the road in support of 'Cass County'

It's probably no surprise that Don Henley's recent solo album, "Cass County," is full of the sort of reflective, bittersweet melodies and lyrics you'd expect from a 69-year-old looking back at the ups and downs of a life as one of the biggest stars in one of the biggest bands in rock history. At this point, though, his creative wellspring still percolates impressively — the new record has sharply written tunes and an impressive series of duets with country artists ranging from Merle Haggard and Dolly Parton to Trisha Yearwood and Vince Gill.

Now on tour behind "Cass County," Henley and his 12-piece band perform Saturday at the Mohegan Sun Arena. Expect a beautifully performed, spot-on show, with plenty of solo and Eagles hits alongside a representative sampling of tunes from "Cass County." And, yes, there will be a poignant moment of reflection and appreciation in honor of Glenn Frey, Henley's creative partner and bandmate who passed earlier this year.

    Don Henley, 7:30 p.m., Mohegan Sun Arena; $49.50, $69.50; 1-888-664-3426.
