Just when you thought no one would be so unoriginal anymore to actually dress up as the rock band Kiss for Halloween ... you head out to the Mohegan Sun Saturday and, sure enough, there go four morons working the Kiss look for All Hallow's Eve weekend.

But hold on! That really IS Kiss!

That's correct: 97-year-old bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons and guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley, now 103, will trod the rock 'n' roll stage yet again as Kiss serve as the final Arena headliner in the casino's month-long 20th anniversary celebration.

On one hand, it might seem a bit eerie that folks this antiquated still put on the ol' makeup and — in the case of Simmons — spit fire and blood and climb atop those four-foot reptile platforms, and earnestly warble for 90 minutes about the delights of cold gin, partying all night, black diamonds and a woman named Beth.

On the other hand, it occurs to me that being in Kiss at ANY age might be really fun. Seriously. Kiss are THE masters of dumb but great rock. And anyone who's ever seen the band's live show will testify that it's the type of experience that never gets old. For that matter, maybe that's the secret. Maybe Kiss are actually a musical fountain of youth. Drink deeply!
