    Bank awards defibrillator to school

The Jewett City Savings Bank Foundation has awarded funds to Plainfield High School for an Automated External Defibrillator for use at school athletic events.

The award was made in response to requests from Plainfield High athletic trainer Allison Gilbert, cheerleading head coach Danielle Leroux, and Atwood Hose Fire Company Chief Robert Duval, a certified Emergency Medical Technician who has served as a volunteer athletic trainer for the school’s football program for over 13 years.

Having an AED available “on the sidelines” would provide a higher level of care and “peace of mind for staff, trainers, parents, and athletes,” they stated.
